Alessandro Ferranti, Ambassador of Italy in Armenia
Born in L’Aquila on 6 August 1970.
Master Degree in Political Science at LUISS University in Rome in 1995 and in Internal and External Security Sciences from Tor Vergata University in Rome in 2009.
Married to Sarune Linartaite, father of Clotilde and Umberto.
Following a public competitive examination, he was appointed probationary Secretary of Legation (Third Secretary) in the diplomatic career in December of 2000.
At the Foreign Ministry, he held his first positions at the Directorate General for European Countries, the Directorate General for Cultural Promotion and Cooperation and the Special Secretariat of the Secretary of State.
In 2004 he employed as Second Commercial Secretary, later confirmed as First Commercial Secretary, at the Italian Embassy in Mexico City.
In 2008 is First Commercial Secretary and Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy in Guatemala City.
In 2012, he returned to Rome to take up a new post in the Special Secretariat of the Secretary of State, then of the Deputy Minister, where he was confirmed following a change of government
In 2013 he assumed as Consul General in Casablanca, Kingdom of Morocco.
In 2017 he is First Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy in Athens.
In 2021 he returns at the Foreign Ministry to serve in the Directorate General for Resources and Innovation, where he takes up the post of Head of Unit for contract staff.
From January 13, 2025 he is Ambassador of Italy in Armenia.
Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
He is a reserve Lieutenant of the Carabinieri Corps.
He is a pianist and music enthusiast, and is the author of several publications on Strategic Studies and Military History topics.
