Italian language and culture

Italian is among the most studied languages in the world and represents an invaluable cultural heritage.
Over the years, a growing interest in the Italian language has developed in University institutions in Armenia. Among the institutions that provide teaching of Italian there are Brusov State University and Yerevan State University which hosts a University Lecturer of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Italian is also taught at State Academy of Fine Arts and Komitas State Conservatory. Recently Italian courses have been activated in several primary and secondary schools (middle and high schools). Currently, the total number of Italian language students at schools and universities is approximately 1000.
In addition, there is also a Yerevan Committee of the Dante Alighieri Association, which plays an active role in promoting the Italian language and organizing cultural events.
