The Sense if Italy
From ancient times, scents and fragrances in different parts of the world, be it in the form of scented oils and creams or perfumes, have had various aims: therapeutic, ritualistic as well as aesthetic.
The opening ceremony will be held at the Matenadaran, where specialized lectures on the themes mentioned above will be given by representatives from both Italy and Armenia. Artisanal perfumers from both countries will be featured, as well as scientific experts and botanists from the Materdaran and other scientific organizations in Armenia.
The first day conference will be followed by a series of lectures and visits scheduled to take place in Yerevan, at Ghazaravan village (Aragatsotn region), as well as at Nairian Cosmetology Company from the 25th to the 27th September.

This annual conference is organized by the Italian Embassy in Armenia and the Matenadaran Museum-Institute after Mashtots. The aim of the event is to draw attention to the traditions and distinctive elements of modern Italian perfumery by comparing it with the fragrance sector in Armenia, as well as placing it in the context of global perfume industry trends. The secondary objective is also to present the wealth and diversity of raw materials and rare flowers that are indigenous to Armenia and have been used for centuries, as well as highlight some of their historic uses.
