Travel updates

All travellers enter Italy from the non-EU need to show either proof of vaccination, recovery or a negative COVID-19 test. The test can either be a negative anti-genic test taken within 48 hours before arrival or a PCR test taken within 72 hours. Tests must be from a certified provider and home test kits are not allowed.

In addition all travelers are required to complete the digital Passenger Locator Form (PLF)

There was a five-day quarantine period for anyone who was unable to provide both. At the end of the isolation a molecular PCR or rapid antigen test must be done.

Please, note that only the vaccine listed below are recognised in Italy as valid proof of vaccination :

– Comirnaty Pfizer-BioNTech by BioNTech Manufacturing GmbH
– Spikevax, formerly Moderna by Moderna Biotech Spain, SL
– Vaxzvria, formerly AstraZeneca by AstraZeneca Ab
– Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) by Janssen – Cilag International NV

Certificates are accepted in Italian, English, Spanish or French and can be both digital or in paper copy.

Passengers unable to present a valid vaccination, recovery certificate or negative test result will have to self-isolate on arrival
